Online Learning

We hope that all Westview students have been able to connect with their teachers. A reminder that all things related to Online Learning can be found by clicking this link. Please continue to check in on the WSS Website and Parent Portal for additional updates and other information. Moving forward, teachers should be outlining weekly expectations for students to complete.

Lockers and School Accessibility
Due to the evolving COVID situation, the district has asked us to strictly limit student access to the school building. As a result, we did have a few students enter the building on Wednesday April 8th to grab essential items (laptops, glasses, etc.). As the public health situation continues to evolve, we will continue to follow the directions of our district leadership around student access to buildings. 

Access to Technology
We are still waiting to hear from the District IT Department the steps we need to take in order to release laptops to the students who have requested a device. We have a list of student names, and will be in contact with those students once we the plan is confirmed! If you are in need of a device, please contact email karl_lindgren-streicher@sd42.ca and he will ensure your name is on our Westview list. 

Grade 8 CATS Rotations
At this point some of the Grade 8 CATS Rotation teachers will be working with you to finish off your current CATS rotations. Moving forward, we will not be asking them to connect with you about upcoming rotations due to logistical challenges. Please focus on your other 6 classes in Grade 8.

And finally, some non-logistical news! Thanks to some amazing leaders in the Westview community, we are launching a series of Westview Student Leader profiles. Our first one was released this week and featured Romina, one of our amazing grade 12 students. Have a look here!
