Former THSS Students Make Us All Proud

When it comes to being successful, there’ s no substitute for hard work.  We at Thomas Haney are proud to recognize various former students for their accomplishments since graduation.

Former grad, CharlyCharly_200px.jpg Caproff is a coordinator for the non-profit Fraser Riverkeeper and she is working with students to increase their knowledge of issues facing our watersheds here in BC. Here’s a link to their work: http://www.fraserriverkeeper.ca/

Lisa Szostek (our Student Council president from a few years ago) has organized Clayoquot Cleanup!  Here is a video of phase one of their work:  https://vimeo.com/221808530

Mirae Campbell is another former student and a lifestyle photographer with an impressive following. Mirae went along to document and help with the Claqoquot Cleanup and she has offered to share a few photos. Below is a link to her website as well as some photos of all the garbage collected. Mirae’s work is quite impressive!    http://miraecampbell.com/about

Without these efforts whales perish in lost fishing gear, birds choke on plastics mistaken for food and the integrity of the ecosystem as a whole declines.

The remote coastal regions of Clayoquot Sound have accumulated critical levels of debris. These photos show the sheer amount of garbage collected.

We are extremely proud of our former students and their contributions! Congratulations Lisa, Charly and Mirae!
