Music

The Music Department at Thomas Haney Secondary is a steadily growing and inclusive program that welcomes all students who wish to learn and discover music together. The Thomas Haney Secondary Music Program is performance based. There are four performances spread throughout the school year. Students learn to play the instrument of their choice while learning music through the collective decision of pieces.  We have a range of opportunities to enjoy music from individual lessons to traditional Western Band and Big Band.  As a school based in the self-directed educational model, students have the opportunity to learn an instrument in an individual method.  For example, students are able to take individual piano, violin lessons, or voice lessons all within their school setting.  Students are also given the opportunity to experience music in other parts of the world through music tours.
