December 13, 2013

December 16, 2013

On the  nineth day of Christmas my true love sent to me …

Nine ladies dancing

eight maids a milking, seven swans a swimming,

six geese a laying,  five golden rings!

four calling birds, three french hens,

two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Congratulations, Mr. Liversidge, for bringing in the most money for Coins for Kids.  Come to the rotunda at lunch to see Mr. Liversidge dressed up as a fairy!

Attention Random Acts of Kindness Club Members: Our meeting next week has been changed from Tuesday to Monday. Remember to bring your Secret Santa gift for the gift exchange!

6 Extra Grad Hoodies! For sale – first come first serve.  See Mrs. Clayton or Mrs. Coghill for details.

HAWAII SPRING 2014 – All students signed up for our trip this spring, there is an important meeting Monday at lunch that all must attend.  See you there; room 2010.

Repeat Seminar:  Monday – Y block / Christmas Music and Literary Terms / room 1122

Make up crew – meet at the theatre during Y block on today to record what makeup is needed.

PE DANCE

Lost and Found Clothing/Items

Please check the lost and found for your lost items!  We will be donating the unclaimed items to the Eco-Action clothing drive on Friday, December 20th in the morning.  The bin is located in the hallway outside the office by the Grad pictures.

THSS Ski/Board Club – LAST CHANCE!!!  It’s less than 2 weeks until our first after school trip to Cypress Bowl.  If you are interested in joining there is still space available and all grades are welcome.  See Mr. Williams or Ms. Fischer this week for info on Cypress or our 3 trips to Whistler.

THSS Food Drive Contest – Is your tree already flooding with presents underneath it?  Is there a turkey in your freezer already?  Each month close to 350,000 Canadians are assisted by food banks and 36% of these people are children.  This is only a quarter of people who actually need help from food banks in Canada.  Most food banks are run by volunteers and each year they have to cut back their food distribution to each household because of a decrease in donations.  If every student at THSS brings in one on-perishable food item, that would be over 1,000 items to donate!  We even beat MRSS!  Every little bit counts.  Especially over the holidays the food banks need us.

The Haiku Death Match is Coming!  Thursday, December 19th (4th / 5th blocks in the English Great Hall)  Can you Haiku?  Want to compete for glory, honour, and fame?  Sign up in the English Great Hall.  See Ms. Ferguson for more details.
