Attention Grade 11s!
Dual credit programs allow students to take post-secondary courses while still in high school. These courses count as elective credit at the Grade 12 level. By earning both high school and post-secondary credits, students will graduate ahead of their peers and be well positioned to transition into a post-secondary institution. Applications in 2025 will be accepted for the following programs:
Academic Dual Credit – Offered in partnership with Douglas College and the Justice Institute of BC.
Courses are delivered at Westview Secondary in a semester format with a cohort model to ensure maximum support and success.
1) Emergency Medical Responder Associate Certificate (Justice Institute)
2) Heath Science courses (Douglas College)
3) Sports Sciences courses (Douglas College)

INFO SESSION: Early Childhood Education Dual Credit Program
This is a reminder that our information session for the new Early Childhood Education Dual Credit Program is TBD, and usually held at Ridge Meadows College (20575 Thorne Avenue, Maple Ridge – Room 1028).

Students who enrol in the program earn 8 high school credits and 5 post-secondary credits. The program consists of two courses (ECED 1120: Health, Safety, and Nutrition; ECED 1210: Creative Art) held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 pm, January 2024 through to May 2024.
Upon completion of this program, students will be eligible to receive the ECE Assistant Certificate through the Early Childhood Educator Registry, allowing them to begin work in the field.
Additional information about the program
Admission requirements:
- applicants should be attending an SD42 secondary school for 2023/24;
- be 18 years or younger on June 30, 2023;
- have completed Grade 11 and English 11 before starting the program;
- with a C+ or higher in English 10 and Math 10 recommended; and
- intend to graduate secondary school.
