You are invited! Second period Friday, May 9 in the Theatre- Thomas Haney grad and working stage actor, Kevin Kraussler is coming to conduct a workshop on the joys, trials and tribulations of being a working stage actor in Canada. If you are interested in how to make the bridge from small town Maple Ridge to the big stage- come down to the theatre for this great opportunity. Float block credit IS available to theatre students but ALL THSS students are welcome to come and listen and ask questions.
There will be a drop-in Multi-cultural seminar next Monday May 12 during Y block in the languages area. Board games will be put out during this hour. If you were unable to attend your Cinco de Mayo seminar this would be a great opportunity!

Nepal / China Spring 2015 – Just a reminder for all students interested in next year’s trip to Asia – there is a parent/student meeting Tuesday May 13th at 6 p.m. in room 2010.
Sustainability Studies 8-day camp/course for students entering Gr. 10 and 11, Aug. 22 – 29. Get connected to local nature, learn a lot about local ecology and have a whole lot of fun! Students can earn 4 Gr. 11 or 12 credits. The entire camp/course, including residence and food, is free. Application deadline is May 12. (3-person limit per school district) Details in the Career Centre.

Grade 11’s!! Want to be trained as a Hair Stylist next year, graduate and be ready to work in a Salon? Now’s your chance because the Hair Styling program at SRT is not full yet. Come to the Career Centre right away if you’re interested because they’re thinking of cancelling the program soon if there aren’t enough students.
Volunteers needed for Therapeutic Summer Programs – occupational and physiotherapy group is to promote skill development in school-aged special needs children, as well as provide an opportunity to expand social and sports skills. Career Centre has details.
RCMP SPURS PROGRAM – LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP!! This amazing local program that’s getting recognition across North America won’t run next year if more students don’t sign up this week. They do tons of cool field trips, activities and hands on learning. Come to the Career Centre for info and application forms.
