All Aboriginal students and parents are invited to the 7th Annual Aboriginal Career Fair TONIGHT, Wednesday, October 7 from 6 – 8 pm at Maple Ridge Secondary.  Post-secondary institutions and organizations will be present to talk in classrooms and individually later in the cafeteria.

 

Helping with senior girls’ volleyball: If you are interested in score keeping, down refereeing, or lining in the evenings for the senior girls volleyball games, please see Mrs. Clayton.  You get paid for your time and you will be trained.

Skiers and boarders: Looking forward to hitting this slopes this year? Interested in coming to Big White, Whistler and Cypress?​ See Mr. Williams or Ms. Fischer to get the necessary forms in order to participate. Reminder that the Big White forms need to be back by this Friday.

Awards Ceremonies for School Year 2014-2015:

  • Grades 9 & 10: Monday, November 2, 2015 at 10:00 am
  • Grade 12: Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10:00 am

If you know that you’re receiving an award, please ensure that you invite your parents so that they can come and celebrate your success!

 

Did you miss your Fitness testing block for PE?  Fitness testing make up times will be during Y block on Monday Oct. 26

 

Cross Country runners: Our first race is this Thursday at Bear Creek Park in Surrey.

 

DELTA LANGUAGE CHALLENGE EXAMS: Any student who is fluent in German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin or Punjabi, and who is interested in writing the Language Challenge exam at the grade 11 or 12 level should come see Mr. von Matt for the application instructions before October 30. Some post-secondary schools accept the challenge exam for credit, and some do not- students will have to check with the post-secondary institution individually.

 

Photos can be ordered online at mountainwest.ca. If paying by cheque, please ensure your completed photo form is returned to the office by October 13.  RETAKE PHOTO DAY: Please note that the date has changed. It will now be on the morning of Thursday, October 15: Prepay order envelopes are available in the office for students who missed the first photo day or are in need of a retake photo. Go cards for the new students of those who missed photo day will be taken without payment or form required.
