Career Program @ BCIT: to help ensure that students who plan to attend our career program are focused on Broadcasting as a possible future career choice, career prep applicants are requested to attend one of the monthly information sessions prior to being scheduled for one of our available slots. Information session dates are listed online on the BCIT website under the “business and media” heading: http://www.bcit.ca/infosessisons/ phone: 604-451-6735. The session starts at 5:30 PM and will last approximately 60 minutes. Parents are welcome to attend.
The Research Community at BC Children’s Hospital is pleased to present Mini Med School 2016 – Genetic Counselling Curriculum – This series will provide insight into the world of genetic counselling. Learn how genetic counsellors are helping to lead the integration of genetics into patient care across all specialties of medicine. Mini Med School 2016 will be held Wednesday, October 19 to Wednesday, November 23 (6 sessions), 7:00 – 9:00pm at BC Children’s Hospital (938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC). Nomination Forms are now available online for high school students in grades 10-12 interested in attending. Each school can nominate a maximum of 2 students to attend. If you require additional time to identify nominees, contact minimed@cfri.ca to reserve space. We have 2 spots saved for our school, students interested please see Mrs. Sekhon in the counselling office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All Aboriginal students and parents are invited to the 8th Annual Aboriginal Career Fair next Wednesday, October 5 from 6 – 8 pm at Maple Ridge Senior Secondary. Post secondary institutions and organizations will be present to talk in classrooms and individually later in the cafeteria.
