Basketball:

Gr. 8 boys’ basketball open gym tryouts Tuesday and Wednesday mornings 7:00 am – 8:15 am and Fridays after school from 3:00 – 4:00 pm starting September 23

THSS Recycling Club

This year the Recycling club will set up a sorting station at the great hall Kiosk on Mondays during long TA for you to sort blue box contents. You can obtain a fresh, clean blue box at this time.

You will find cardboard, paper and refundable drink container bins at various locations throughout the building.

Ridge Meadows Recycling picks up Tuesdays and Fridays.  Bottle collection and sorting is done on Thursdays.

AUDITIONS! AUDITIONS!

Are you new to THSS this year or perhaps you didn’t get a chance to audition last year? We will be holding auditions for remaining roles for the first Sightlines Theatre Production of “It’s a Wonderful Life” starting Wed. Sept. 14. All students in all grades are welcome to audition. Go to the theatre callboard at the foot of the ramp leading up to the gym and all the information you need is waiting for you. It’s not too late to be a part of this fantastic winter classic! We are also auditioning for roles for three elementary girls- so if you have a younger sibling or know of a grade 4-7 students who would like to audition- let Mrs. Evans know ASAP.

Grad Transitions: No classes this week.  We will meet on Friday, September 30th in your scheduled block.

Language Students

The first Multiculture seminar has been posted for the year. Please sign up in room 2145 ASAP as space is limited.

Baking Club

All students interested in Baking Club, our first meeting will be this Friday, Sept 23rd during 4th block in Mrs. Samouilhan’s room: 2122.

Fishing Club

Anyone in any grade who is interested in the fishing club is invited to come to a meeting in room 1144 Tuesday, September 27th right after school. We will meet until 3:45 p.m.

Career Counselling News

Fire Academy:  last chance! Keep turning in the applications until today (Thursday)

Intramural Dodge Ball: The sign-up sheets are posted on the intramural board outside the rotunda. Please sign-up ASAP.  Sheets will be taken down at the end of the day on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

RCMP in BC YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Students aged 14-18, have something to say about issues facing young people? Apply by emailing for an application by October 31 Email: yacbc@rcmp-grc.gc.ca or phone 778-290-4005 ask for Vijay Morancie RCMP in BC, Crime Prevention Services.

29  -Unlock your Future presentation gr 10-12 for students and parents in the rotunda at 7 pm
