Show dates are Jan. 28 – 30th at 7:00 pm with a matinée performance on Wednesday, January 28th. Tickets are only $6 for students and seniors, and $8 for adults, so make sure you get your tickets early before they sell out!
Go see the art work of Thomas Haney’s own talented Art students hanging in Maple Ridge’s downtown library! The show will be running until the end of January.

Applied Skills Rotation: Just a reminder that the last class for block A is Monday, February 2nd, and the new class starts February 3rd. The last class for block H is February 3rd, and the new class begins on February 5th. The rotation follows the layout on page 180 in the student planner.
The Art Institute of Vancouver SWEAT Program will be taking place March 19 – 22, 2015. This is a great opportunity for students to fulfill their work experience credit while exploring a creative career option. The application can be found at www.aivsweat.com and is due March 1. This program is open to students in Grade 11 and 12. Please let your students know that they will need to print out the application and mail it to AIV:

The Art Institute will also be hosting its Annual Grad Fashion Show on March 24, 2015. The event titled FTHREE3 will incorporate Fashion, Food, and Film. It will be held at the Art Institute of Vancouver’s campus at 2665 Renfrew Street. There is an afternoon show for High School students and it includes a Fashion Workshop. There are a number of complementary tickets for the show. If you and/ or your students are interested in attending please RSVP to Elaina Mauro at emauro@aii.edu. Another Art Institute event that will be held on Saturday, February 7th is AI Afterdark. This fun event is geared towards high school students and it is a chance for them to come to the school and to a hands-on workshop in the following areas: Fashion, Graphic/ Web Design, Audio/ Film, Photography, Culinary, Animation/ Game Design, or Interior Design. If students would like to attend they can RSVP to www.Aiafterdark.com. Finally, for the past few years, the Art Institute has been hosting an Art Educator’s Appreciation Show. The Fashion Design Department of UFV is hosting its annual Model Auditions again this year on Saturday January 31st from 10 am – noon at UFV Abbotsford Campus (33844 King Road, Building D – room D101). They are looking for female models who are 14+ years old and 5′ 7″ and up. No experience is necessary as they provide training.
Models who come to the audition should know:
- The session takes approximately one hour
•To wear a T-Shirt and jeans
•If you have long hair, bring an elastic
•To wear comfortable shoes for the audition walk (heels if you have them)
•To remember your parking stall # for the parking meter – bring a toonie
•If chosen, there will be a commitment of several training sessions, fittings and one full day attendance on the show day.

GRAD FEES are available to be paid on the parent portal.
Cap & Gown $50.00, Dinner / Dance $60.00 per ticket (you can purchase 2 if you are bringing a guest), Dry Grad $30.00 per ticket (you can purchase 2 if you are bringing a guest). Parents will be welcome to attend early at Meadow Gardens for photos, but the Dinner / Dance is for students and one guest only (not parents).

- The Concordia University application for September 2015 will be unavailable until January 26 at noon (Eastern Standard Time) as they will be upgrading their online application software.
- McGill University’s application deadline for Canadian high school students is February 1.
- Capilano’s School of Performing Arts application deadline is February 2. For any questions regarding these programs please contact Capilano at svpa@capilano.ca.
