Grad Photos
Grad photos will be taken between December 1 – 5 at Thomas Haney Secondary.
Darby Photos will be taking our grad portraits. ALL grads need to book an appointment using this link: https://www.darbyphotos.app/public/grad-portal/thomas-haney-secondary-school-2025-robin
For students who only want a grad photo for the yearbook and the Grad 2026 composite that will be in the hallway at THSS, the session is FREE.
For students who would like to purchase a Grad Photo package, there is a $35 sitting fee.
What to Wear and Bring:
Attire Under the Gown:
– The graduation gown has a V-neckline. We recommend a collared shirt and tie for a classic look, or a lower neckline so clothing doesn’t show.
– All graduation attire (cap, gown, sash) will be provided.
– Portraits begin in your personal outfit before you change into grad attire.
Props & Extras:
– Bring a personal prop that represents you (sports item, musical instrument, hobby item, etc.)
– You’re welcome to invite family or friends for additional portraits.
– If you’d like a portrait with a fellow grad, we suggest coordinating back-to-back time slots.
Tips for a Great Session:
– Arrive early and ready to go – this ensures we stay on schedule and you get the most out of your time. We suggest being 10 minutes early!
– Keep your look neat and simple – avoid busy patterns, bold logos, or wrinkled clothing.
– Bring a small comb, brush or touch-up kit if needed.
– Don’t stress over the session! Bring a smile and we will do the rest. If you have any special edit requests, just tell the photographer and we will do our best to make it happen.
If you have any questions you can contact us at info@darbyphotos.com.
Grad Cap and Gowns
The grad gowns are purchased from Herff Jones and will be issued to students after the grad breakfast and rehearsal. These are keeper gowns; they do not need to be returned. Grads will be measured for their gowns either in the main office or in Mr. Clutchey’s classroom (room 1132). If students will be wearing heels to the ceremony, the heel height needs to be factored into their measurements.
Grad gowns are designed to fit heights of:
- 4’8” – 5’4” (142 cm – 163 cm) up to 200 pounds (90 kg).
- 5’5” – 6’1” (165 cm -185 cm) up to 250 pounds (113 kg).
- 6’2 – 6’8” (187 cm – 203 cm) up to 300 pounds (136 kg).
If a student is heavier than these height guidelines, they need to indicate XL along with their height.
Students or parents should steam the gown prior to the ceremony, and attach the tassel to the cap.
