Please ensure that you conduct a daily health check with your child before sending them to school each day. Do not send your child to school if they do not pass the daily health check or if they are ill with a cold or flu.
As per health guidelines, only essential visitors to THSS are permitted in the building at this time. Additionally, spectators are not permitted at school events. All meetings are virtual for the time being.
Below are some of the measures we’ve introduced in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our school. Please click here to review our enhanced safety measures.
TA Entry Doors:
Because all of the exterior doors are kept locked, students must line up at their TA Entry Door each morning by 8:25. Their TA teacher, or a TOC, will open the door and call them inside. The corresponding map is here: THSS Map January 2022
Entering the Building After Lunch:
Students who leave the building for lunch will need to re-enter the school at the end of lunch hour (12:44 on Mondays, and 12:35 Tuesdays – Fridays) using the following doors:
Grade 12: Exterior gym door
Grade 11: Front doors
Grade 10: Socials Wing
Grade 9: Math/Science Door
Grade 8: Rotunda
Safety Instructions for Students:
On Monday January 10, our TA teachers went over the safety measures with students. If your child missed the presentation, or you wish to review it, you may access it here: Training for Secondary Students Jan 2022
Entering Absences on the Parent Portal:
When you enter an absence on the portal you are given a number of options to toggle on: Illness/Medical, Family Vacation, Early Dismissal, Late or Other. When entering illness you do not need to disclose if it is a COVID-related illness; that is entirely your decision. We do ask that if you know it will be a multi-day absence that you indicate the expected date of return as this will help our planning.
We want to thank all of our parents and students for their patience and cooperation as we make the necessary adjustments to help keep each other as safe as possible.
