THSS Ski/Board Club – There is a very important meeting today at lunch in room 2010 for all attending our Thursday evening trips to Cypress/Grouse Mountain starting next Thursday, Dec. 19^th.  EVERYONE MUST ATTEND

 

THSS Astronomy Club: There will be a meeting today at lunch in room 1129.

 

GUITAR HERO INTRAMURALS – GRADE 8 – Tues, Dec 10

French 10 (Wednesdays) with Mme Preddy: Do not forget about your Belgian/French food festival on this Wednesday (Dec. 11) during our set class. Bring your prepared recipe, the name of it and the ingredients listed. No Nuts please!

Lost and Found Clothing/Items

Please check the lost and found for your lost items!  We will be donating the unclaimed items to the Eco-Action clothing drive on Friday, December 20^th in the morning.  The bin is located in the hallway outside the office by the Grad pictures.

The FSO will meet at lunch this Thursday in room 1132.  New members are always welcome.  We want to start planning our next event!  See you there J

 

THSS Ski/Board Club – LAST CHANCE!!!  It’s less than 2 weeks until our first after school trip to Cypress Bowl.  If you are interested in joining there is still space available and all grades are welcome.  See Mr. Williams or Ms. Fischer this week for info on Cypress or our 3 trips to Whistler.

 

English 10-12 Seminar:  Wednesday, 1^st block, room 1122 – “Christmas Music and Poetry Terms – A Holiday Pair”.

 

Visit the eco action table in the rotunda at lunch Tuesday & Friday and check out our amazing buttons!  $1 each!  A great gift for friends and family.

A Green Christmas Tip:   Did you know that this year the recycling depot will not accept wrapping paper?  They found that the dyes and décor on the paper contaminated the recycling process.  Instead use cloth bags, gift bags, tea towels or newspaper/magazine paper to wrap gifts and add your own ribbon/bows!

 

THSS Food Drive Contest – The THSS Food Drive is on!  From now until Dec. 20.  Please bring in non-perishable food items to TA to help support the Friends in Need Food Bank.  Drop off December 18 and 20 at the Christmas tree in the rotunda during TA.  Please write your TA number on each food item brought in – the TA that brings in the most food wins a TA lunch!  This year THSS is in a competition against MRSS – AND WE SHALL NOT LOSE!!!

 

The Haiku Death Match is Coming!  Thursday, December 19^th (4^th / 5^th blocks in the English Great Hall)  Can you Haiku?  Want to compete for glory, honour, and fame?  Sign up in the English Great Hall.  See Ms. Ferguson for more details.

 

DSAC will be holding a fundraiser for Coins For Kids all next week!  In the rotunda at lunch come and donate money to the teacher you most want to see wear a princess fairy costume.  The teachers include:  Mr. Liversidge, Mr. Biggar and Mr. Connolly, so come out and support the kids and see one teacher dress up.

 

PE DANCE UNIT

Dec 11-13 – Prizes will be given each block for the best dressed Cowboy or Cowgirl (Country Attire).

ü  Dec 16 – Cowboy Hat Day (THSS has a no hat rule, so hats should only be worn in the main gym)

ü  Dec 19 –  Santa/Christmas Hat Day (THSS has a no hat rule, so hats should only be worn in the main gym)

ü  Dec 20 – Hoe-Down Day   (Country Attire)

 

*Each day you dress for your class in theme, you will get one bonus % added onto Learning Guide #7 (unit before dance).

*Bonus % will only be recorded when attendance is taken at the start of class.
