As Halloween falls on a Saturday night this year, we want to remind families of an important community concern. In past years, large gatherings of youth at SRT and surrounding areas have led to vandalism, fights, and significant litter, impacting both our school and neighbourhood.
Thanks to the support of families and the presence of the RCMP, last Halloween was largely issue-free. The RCMP will again be monitoring the area this year, and we continue to work closely with them, as well as Maple Ridge Parks and local residents, to help ensure a safe Halloween for everyone.
We ask all families to have a conversation with their teenagers about making safe and responsible choices and avoiding gatherings at SRT on Halloween night. We are proud of our school and community and expect our students to demonstrate that same pride through respectful behaviour.
Additional attention will be focused on the school grounds on Halloween evening, with the safety of our students, school, and neighbourhood remaining our top priority.
Thank you for your continued support. We wish all of our families a safe and enjoyable Halloween season.
