Science 10 fieldtrip @ Planetarium

As part of the new Science 10 Curriculum, Science 10 now includes a unit on Astronomy.  Learning outcomes include, Formation of the Universe: The Big Bang Theory, Components of the Universe Over Time: Life Cycle of Stars, and Astronomical Data Collection Methods.   All Science 10 classes from both Day 1 and Day 2 will be going to the Planetarium on Monday, May 25th, 2026.  In order to make the field trip successful and minimize the impact on other Grade 10 classes in the school, we will be striving for full attendance of the Grade 10 class.  We have reservations and allotted bussing for 150 students.  If there is not enough interest shown in the field trip, it will be cancelled.

Students will view 2 shows in the Planetarium and have access to the Centre Courtyard galleries.  Students will be allowed to have lunch outdoors in Vanier Park, weather permitting. 

Students not attending the field trip will be required to attend school as they will have alternate assignments in lieu of attending the trip. Students will not be permitted to stay home.

Please note that bus seating is limited. Please register early to ensure a seat on the us. The deadline for registration is May 15 or when seating capacity has reached its maximum.
