Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary
Students in the Applied Outdoor Environmental Program are invited to take a Belay Course at Climb Base5 in Coquitlam on April 7 and 11, 2025. Students taking part on the two-day course will take the school van at 11:36 am and will be back by the end of school. The objective of this course is to have our students learn how to belay their climbing partner safely up a rock face. Students will be learning from climbing professionals and will learn for two days to be competent to belay folks up a wall. The cost of this course is $56.70 which includes harness and shoe rentals.
The course will consist of two days, each two hours long about belay safety. As noted by Climb Base5, students can come back after the program is completed for them to take a 5 minute belay test and get certified at their gyms for safe belay practices.
Mr. Penacerrada will be accompanying the students on this trip.
Please email cpenacerrada@sd42.ca prior to signing up if you have any questions or require more information.
