École Secondaire Pitt Meadows
A student and teacher in the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District have teamed up to write a new children’s book.
Magpie Mischief is set in the forested area behind Edith McDermott Elementary, where author Helen Donnelly once taught, and illustrator Lena Meszaros was once a student. The pair have stayed connected over the years as they both moved on to Pitt Meadows Secondary, where they began talking two years ago about collaborating on the story.

Dear families,
As most of our schools move into spring break, I want to once again express my deep gratitude to staff, families, and students for rising to the challenges presented by this pandemic. Thanks to the dedication and tenacity of our staff, we were able to keep all schools open during the Omicron wave that followed winter break. I extend my sincere thanks to staff at every level of our organization, and wish all our school communities and families a restful and well-deserved break.
Two Pitt Meadows Secondary staff, Sarah Van Nuys and Kristie Ward, are spearheading the Pour your heart in your art “Mini Canvas Project.”
The mini canvas art is being created by both staff and students with the intent of sending positive vibes by using the canvas to encourage others to take care of themselves and/or those around them. [Read more…]
