The following is an excerpt from our 2026-2027 Welcome Back Letter (sent out via the Parent Portal on August 28th) regarding school start-up on September 8th…

Tuesday, September 8th: Upon arrival at their grade-designated times, students are to proceed directly to their Block A Class (schedules will be accessible via Student’s MyClass later in the day on Friday, September 4th).

Teachers will welcome students, review opening day materials, school structures, assign lockers, and answer any questions. Students will be here approximately one hour and dismissed following their session.

• Grade 8 Students – start time 10:00 a.m. (please do NOT arrive much earlier as all staff will be in a meeting)
• Grade 9/10 Students – start time 11:00 a.m.
• Grade 11/12 Students – start time 12:00 noon
• NEW International Students:  1:00 – 2:30 p.m. You will meet your Liaison in the Multipurpose
  Room (1014) for a school tour, get your class schedule and answer any questions you might have.
  • If you are a RETURNING International Student, please attend at your grade specific time above.

** IMPORTANT – there will NOT be any school buses running on Sept. 8th.  They will start their regular schedule on Wednesday, September 9th.

Registration for students eligible for school district transportation for the 2026/27 school year will be open from Monday, May 11, 2026, at 12:00 pm (noon) to June 26, 2026, at 4:00 pm.

Regular student transportation is available for eligible students living and attending school in the following school catchments:

• Blue Mountain Elementary
• Garibaldi Secondary (excluding those residing in Silver Valley / Rockridge area)
• Highland Park Elementary
• Pitt Meadows Secondary
• Webster’s Corners Elementary
• Whonnock Elementary

Eligibility for regular student transportation is based on grade level and distance from the catchment area school as outlined below:

• Grades K-3 students living farther than 4 kms from their catchment school
• Grades 4-12 students living farther than 4.8 kms from their catchment school

Eligibility for transportation for students with disabilities and diverse abilities is based on criteria set out in Policy 5400 Student Transportation Provided by the Board on the school district website.

To register for regular student transportation or transportation for students with disabilities and diverse abilities, please click on the announcement titled Student Transportation 2026/2027 – Registration. The announcement will appear when registration opens at noon, May 11, 2026. Registration deadline is June 26, 2026.

(1) Grade 12s – The SD42 Scholarship FIRM DEADLINE is Thursday, March 12th at 3:00 p.m.

Completed application packages MUST be received at the Career Centre no later than Thursday, March 12^th by 3:00 p.m.  Late submissions will NOT be accepted as this is already a deadline extension so please… plan ahead!  Double-check that your applications packages are complete – the criteria for each scholarship/bursary is noted in the SD42 Awards Booklet.

(2) Payment and completed Cap & Gown Package Forms are due back to the office by the end of the school day on Friday, March 13th (the form was sent out on the parent portal; extras are available in the school office if needed).

A reminder to PMSS Grade 11s that the 2026-2027 Trade Application FIRM deadline is TOMORROW, February 27^th by the end of the school day (at the school’s office).

• The Daily Announcements that are read out each morning over the PA System are posted under the STUDENT Top Tab under PMSS Daily Announcements.  Check those out to see what is happening at the school.
• Don’t forget that this Friday, February 20th is a LATE START – warning bell rings at 9:45 a.m. and classes begin at 9:50.

Good afternoon PMSS Families – just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, February 13th is a school-based Non Instructional Day (no school for students) and Monday, February 16th is the Family Day Statutory Holiday.  Enjoy your long weekend 🙂

The 2026 SD42 Awards Booklet is now available! You can find it on the SD42 website under the Student Top Tab, as well as on pmssgrads.wordpress.com. This booklet outlines all district and school‑based scholarships, bursaries, and awards available to you.

Application Deadline: 
Completed application packages must be submitted to the PMSS Career Centre no later than Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.  **Late submissions will NOT be accepted, so please plan ahead!

Student-Led Parent Teacher Conference Day happening on Thursday November 6, 2025. 

Of special note: Sign up is THROUGH the parent portal.

• We have a combination of our gym 5-minute conferences as well as some hybrid-multifamily classroom conferences which range from 10 – 15 minutes.
• Please be mindful of travel time between classrooms and the gym when booking your 5 minute gym slots. 
• There are also ‘some’ drop-in spots available for the classroom hybrid conferences only that you can sign up on ‘the day of’.
• Grade 8 parents, talk to your child about which rotation they completed and visit with those 2 teachers, there is no need to book with all 10 rotation teachers. 

Reminder that these are student-led, and students should attend with their family – this is especially important for the classroom hybrid conferences as the students will lead these with their families.

• Afternoon sessions run from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
• Evening sessions run from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  
• There is NO SCHOOL THAT DAY FOR STUDENTS (other than attending their selected conference time with parents/guardians)
  

** Conference sign-up is done through the Parent Portal and opened Friday, October 24th. Sign-up will CLOSE at noon on Wednesday November 5th, 2025.
