General meetings of the GSS PAC typically occur every other month in the GSS Library at 7pm. Dates for the 2025/2026 School year are::

General meetings are open to all parents/guardians/primary caregivers of a student registered at GSS. ALL parents/guardians/primary caregivers of registered students are automatically PAC Members at student registration and are encouraged to attend, but attendance at meetings is not a requirement to be a Member. Decisions at these meetings are made by majority vote of those present according to our Constitution & Bylaws. The Elected Officers are stewards of the Council with roles and responsibilities within the Membership; the Executive is NOT “The PAC”.
PAC meetings typically include a presentation from a School Program or Department to inform parents about learning initiatives and activities happening within the School. The meeting also features reports from the School Principal, PAC Treasurer, and the DPAC (District Parent Advisory Council) Representative, providing updates on school operations, finances, and district-level discussions. These meetings also serve as a forum for parents to ask general questions, share concerns, and provide input or ideas related to the PAC, the school, and public education that may improve opportunities and learning outcomes for students.
Decision-making items may include matters related to the PAC’s self-governance, allocations or disbursements from PAC Community Gaming Grant funds, other PAC fundraising initiatives, and school projects or initiatives that require PAC Membership approval or support. These are open for discussion and decided by majority vote under the framework of Robert’s Rules of Order.
The Council can also support parents by helping them navigate and understand School & District Policies and Procedures, the BC School Act and by assisting with advocacy for students and their families in the public education system.
