Do you speak Spanish? Or are you really enjoying Spanish 10, 11, or 12? Ms. Ford is looking for students who are comfortable speaking Spanish to speak and write with her beginning Spanish students. You can get credit in Planning, Student Aide, Peer Tutoring, Grad Trans, or any other course where you need work hours. Drop by room 2140 whenever you have a moment and talk to Ms. Ford.
Interested in exploring circuits or computer coding? Come try Spheros, Little Bits, MaKey MaKey and Lego Mindstorms! The coding room will be open this Wednesday and Thursday in period 4 and period 5. Sign up in the library!

Students who are here to graduate: If you have finished grade 9 in your home country, you are eligible for grade 12 language equivalency, and are NOT eligible for the language challenge exam in Delta. See Ms. Culbert if you have any questionsLANGUAGE CHALLENGE EXAMS: Students in grades 10,11 or 12 who are fluent in both reading and writing in French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Punjabi or Spanish can apply to take a Language Challenge exam in Delta in January for course completion. The exam is a one day, six hour exam. Students who are interested can pick up the Challenge package instructions from one of the counsellors. All applications must be returned to the counsellors by October 28.
Career Program @ BCIT: to help ensure that students who plan to attend our career program are focused on Broadcasting as a possible future career choice, career prep applicants are requested to attend one of the monthly information sessions prior to being scheduled for one of our available slots. Information session dates are listed online on the BCIT website under the “business and media” heading:http://www.bcit.ca/infosessisons/ phone: 604-451-6735. The session starts at 5:30 PM and will last approximately 60 minutes. Parents are welcome to attend.
The Research Community at BC Children’s Hospital is pleased to present Mini Med School 2016 – Genetic Counselling Curriculum – This series will provide insight into the world of genetic counselling. Learn how genetic counsellors are helping to lead the integration of genetics into patient care across all specialties of medicine. Mini Med School 2016 will be held Wednesday, October 19 to Wednesday, November 23 (6 sessions), 7:00 – 9:00pm at BC Children’s Hospital (938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC). Nomination Forms are now available online for high school students in grades 10-12 interested in attending. Each school can nominate a maximum of 2 students to attend. If you require additional time to identify nominees, contactminimed@cfri.ca to reserve space. We have 2 spots saved for our school, students interested please see Mrs. Sekhon in the counselling office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Samples will be available some days outside the rotunda….more details will be posted that week. All orders are due Wednesday, November 23.
