GRAD INFORMATION:
By now you should have booked your grad portraits but if not, do it today at www.mountainwest.ca. If you cannot find any more appointment times on their website, choose SD42 district as the school and you will find additional times listed on the pro-d day this Monday, January 16. For grads do not intend to purchase photos, please get a photo done for the yearbook and the grad wall composite; the sitting fee will be waived.
Grad Deadlines:
- Your 200 character grad write-up must be emailed to thssgrad2017@gmail.com by this Sunday, January 15
- The optional baby or toddler photo and parent tribute is also due via email to thssgrad2017@gmail.com Sunday, January 15 (see p. 76 in the planner for more details) **The cost for this tribute is $30.00 and is available to be paid on the parent portal until January 15
- If you have not yet paid your cap and gown fees, the deadline is February 28. If you’re not sure whether your fees have been paid, see Mrs. Shamro in the office or send her an email: Sandra_Shamro@sd42.ca
Senior Boys’ Basketball Tournament: Everyone is welcome to come and watch the senior boys open their home tournament this Friday in our gym. The game starts at 1:15. Let’s show our THUNDER pride and cheer on our boys! 🙂

Instructions for connecting an Android phone if the usual download method doesn’t work:
When student gets to stage where they are installing the app, go down to Operating Systems and choose OTHER operating system
Step 1 – install, name, wifi
Step 2 – install, will prompt for username/password of student, choose wifi
Step 3 – configure wifi – go to wifi connection in phone – choose WLAN – connect – modify network – show advanced options – change EAP method to TLS – 1st certificate is the one created in step 1, 2nd certificate is user’s name, save

Big White Ski Trip:
Big White skiers and boarders: There is an important mandatory meeting Tuesday, Jan 10th at lunch in Mr. Williams’s room (2010). We will be going over information regarding the trip.
Whistler Ski and Board Club: Have you seen the snow in the mountains??? Interested in coming to ski or board at Whistler? THSS ski and board club has two trips planned: February 4th and March 4th to Whistler. Come get more information and a permission form from Ms. Fischer or Mr. Williams. All levels are welcome!
Schulich Leader Scholarships are prestigious entrance scholarships awarded to high school graduates enrolling in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics at 20 Canadian partner universities. Interested students need to write a 300 word essay demonstrating their leadership skills to get nominated. The deadline is January 25. For more info come see Mr. Von Matt, Ms. Matthews or Mrs. Sekhon in the career centre.

The Clean Tech Competition is an international research and design challenge for 15-18 year old pre-university students.
