“Deck the Halls” – Locker Decoration Contest: From Dec. 5th to 9th, the THSS Leadership team is inviting ALL students to decorate their locker in a festive way for the holiday season. On the following Monday, a team of students will judge all lockers decorated and pick the best 3 to be a warded the prize of cash credit at the Thunder Café. Happy Decorating!
Key Club News: “The Giving Tree”
Key Club will be collaborating with RAK and FSO to present The Giving Tree. This event will run until December 9. There is a Christmas tree in the main entrance near the elevator. Please take a tag you like on the tree and bring in your present the next day with that tag. There will be people from our club to place it in the safe place to give it to children in need.
Attention all of Mr. Clutchey’s students: Mr. Clutchey will be available in the Rotunda during his open blocks (not room 1110) for the next 2 weeks. His support students should also report to the Rotunda for the next two weeks. Psychology 11 and 12 classes will remain in room 1110.
Attention Mrs. Wilkies Drama 8 students: Drama class will be held in Mrs. Wilkies room (#2011) until Christmas break.
“What’s Next”: Michael Reimer from School Creative will be here to meet with students on December 14 at 12:30 pm in the Art Room. School Creative is a post secondary Art institution in Vancouver and their aim is to “empower creative individuals with the artistic and business skills required to work in todays’ competitive arts industry”. Anyone interested in Acting/Animation/Photography/Video games and Writing is welcome.
Attention Languages Students: The final multiculture seminar before Winter break will be happening on December 14th. Creperie La Boheme will be back with their Crepes food truck on that day from 9am through lunch. All interested students should sign up in the Languages Area (2145), if you do not have an already scheduled Languages Class at that time. Money can be brought in a sealed envelope with your name on it. We need to give final numbers by December 8th. Merci! Gracias! Arigato!

Grad Transitions Students: Remember that the deadline for all Grad Transitions 12 assignments is Friday, December 16th! If you do not complete the course by the deadline, you will be spending fixed blocks working with your teacher until the course is complete. If you have not yet logged into FreshGrade, please do so ASAP to be sure you know how to get in. See Mr. Dickin in the tech wing or Mrs. Fulgueras in the library if you need help. If you missed Friday’s PSI Selection session, please see your GT teacher ASAP. Congratulations to all of the students who have completed the course well ahead of the deadline!

Grad Information:
Grad Portraits: grads can now book their grad photography sessions online at www.mountainwest.ca. Grad portraits take place here at THSS between January 9 – 14. Please note that there is a $20 sitting fee.
Grad Write-Up: Email your grad write-up to thssgrad2017@gmail.com before January 15th (note: 200 character limit).
Baby Photos / Parent Tribute: Parents can have a tribute (300 character limit) and one baby or toddler photo added to the yearbook for $30.00. Tributes and photos should be emailed to thssgrad2017@gmail.com with the student’s full name in the subject line. Payment is due no later than January 15. See p. 76 in the student planner for more information.
Athletics Events:
December 8 – 11: Grade 9 Boys’ Basketball to Prince George from Dec. 8 at 8:45 am until Dec. 11 at 12:00 pm (Curley)
LAST CALL!!!!! Skiers and boarders have you seen the mountains and heard the snow reports? Come sign up for our ski/ board trips to Cypress and Whistler. We have 4 trips planned to Cypress and 2 to Whistler this year. See Mr. Williams or Ms. Fischer for permission forms. We still have spaces available. All grades welcome.
Intramurals: Every Monday and Wednesday until Dec 14 the main gym will be open for drop in Volleyball.
Badminton: Sign up sheets have now been posted.
Tournaments are 1) Grades 9 and 10 AND 2) Grades 11, 12 and teachers
Please sign up on the intramural board. Sheets will be taken down on Dec 12. The tournament will start in January.
Reminder to senior boys soccer team: Team wrap up Wednesday December 7th in the Suddaby Room.
