Dear Garibaldi Parents/Caregivers/Guardians:
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the sudden passing of Mr. Harjit Bahia, a teacher for over 20 years at Garibaldi Secondary. Mr. Bahia has been a caring and valued member of our school community and will be missed greatly by staff and students alike. We know you will join us in expressing our deepest condolences to Mr. Harjit Bahia’s family and friends. We are in communication with his family, and we will share updates as they become available.
Thank you for supporting your child through this difficult news. We have attached information on community resources should your family and your child need support. Garibaldi is a strong school community that takes care of each other and when we know how we can best honor Mr. Bahia, we will be sure to share that with everyone.
As an administrative team, we will be returning to the school the week of August 19th.
