Dear PMSS Families,
Earlier today our Superintendent, Mr. Dhillon, sent an email about our return to school in January. Schools will be closed until January 10th for most students. Children with exceptional needs and children of essential workers are eligible to attend starting January 4th. Please note that classes will not be running as per normal next week and no new assignments or instruction will be offered either in person or via remote learning. Students who attend will be assigned to a supervised classroom for the day to work.
Students with exceptional needs who work with an Education Assistant to address personal care needs (ie. feeding/safety/toileting) will continue with their individualized programming.
At this point we don’t have any more information than what was shared in Mr. Dhillon’s email. Please call on Monday to register your student(s) if you feel they qualify to attend next week. Further information about entrance time etc. for next week will be sent at the end of day on Monday.
In the coming days, I know our community will continue to support each other as we work together to implement health and safety protocols outlined by the Provincial Health Officer and the Ministry of Education. I know how much our PMSS community means to our staff, students, and families. I recognize that this is a difficult time as we continue to navigate the pandemic together. I want to remind you of some of our available community supports should you wish to connect with them.
