Bienvenue et bonjour le monde à PMSS!
We have a distinct community of bilingual learning at Pitt Meadows Secondary. Our program is known for its close-knit ties between students and community and we strive to offer rich learning experiences for our students in addition to the many programs that exist alongside our immersion program. There are over 8 000 languages in the world and so many ways to connect with the global community through language, and we are proud of our students who choose bilingual studies. Many of our students are successful in the acquisition of French as they participate in engaging, quality school activities such leadership, gifted programs and school sport teams. We look forward to basing our work on student-centred research and learning together.
If you have any questions about the programs offered here, please contact your student’s teacher from the school website page.

Immersion program at a glance:
Students in this program will take three courses in French during their grade 8, 9, and 10 years. Over the grade 11 and 12 years, students will take a total of three courses in French spread over two years. Other options may be available for students wishing to cross-enrol in online immersion courses as well. We are proud of our locally developed Vie Courante 9 that may be one of its kind in the country for the combination of the linguistically and culturally enriched experiences of food and theatre arts.
We are the first school in our community to offer the DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue français) and we are excited to validate our students’ competencies on an international basis. Throughout the year, we strive to provide authentic opportunities to interact in French. We offer service in French within the school, as well as field trips in French to opera, local venues, francophone events and special guests.
We are participants in French video projects for La francophonie des amériques: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5Af_E9F9Xo
We are participants in Les Voix de la Poésie
We look forward to many opportunities such as the French Immersion Teachers VideoClip contest as well.
