Planning for Next Year: Student Timetables

As we move further into the school year, the majority of both current and incoming students have now confirmed their course requests for the upcoming academic year. The next phase for our administrative team is to begin building the master timetable based on these requests.

We want to take this opportunity to emphasize an important point: Garibaldi Secondary is projected to be very full next year. In previous years, there was often some flexibility to adjust student timetables in August and September. However, we have been communicating clearly with students and staff this spring that such flexibility may be extremely limited this time around. As a result, some students may find that changes to their schedules in September will not be possible, and they may hear “no” more often than in past years.

At this time, however, we are still able to process course request changes. It is crucial that students have selected alternate course options, as these may be needed if their first-choice courses are not available. If students wish to make any changes, they are encouraged to speak with their grade counsellor or grade administrator during the month of May.
