Grade 12 Emily Morley was crowned BC Champion on Saturday as she convincingly won the Heptathlon event at the BC High School Multi-Events Championships. Trailing the leader for most of the event, she came up with a huge javelin best to take the lead, throwing it nearly 40meters. She missed breaking the school record by a mere 30 points. She was the only athlete to break 4000 points, recording a huge 4248 points. The win puts the Ramblers out front in the points race to win the Triple AAA BC High School Girls Team Championship for the second straight year. Grade 9 Ty Stevenson was a bronze medalist in the Junior Men’s Octathlon event. The Ramblers track team is competing later this week in the BC High School Track & Field Championship which involves 335 schools and 2500 high school athletes from all over BC.
