Congratulations to our Track and Field team who came home with two new championships from the BC High School Track & Field Championships last week: the Senior Female Team Championship & the BC Senior Combined Team Championship. Led by Seniors Aaryanna Kurucz, Emily Morley, & Mateya Haintz, the defending BC Champion Girls outscored powerhouse Oak Bay Secondary to dominate the Senior Girls division & also lead the team to win the entire Senior Combined Division Championship.
BC Champions include:
Senior Division
- Aaryanna Kurucz – 400m Hurdles, 4 x 400m Relay, 4 x 100m Relay
- Emily Morley – Heptathlon, 4 x 100m Relay, 4 x 400m Relay
- Jade Lenton – 4 x 100m Relay, 4 x 400m Relay
- Khra Le – 4 x 100m Relay, 4 x 400m Relay
- Alina Olson – 4 x 100m Relay
- Mina Lillieheier – 4 x 400m Relay
* The Senior Girls have now won the 4 x 400m event at the BC Championships for three years straight, recording a blistering time Saturday of 4:01.00 to take the Gold medal for the third straight year.
Junior Division
- Nico Aron – 400m, 800m
- Aiden Grout – High Jump
- Elliott Payne – Javelin (New BC Championship record of 59.11meters)
Grade 8 Division
- Paige Johnson – High Jump
