Track & Field Champions at Provincials

Congratulations to the Ridge Track & Field team who placed 3rd overall at the BC High School Championships last week in Kelowna. The boys team placed 2nd in the boys team competition. Highlights include BC Champions: Aiden Grout with a new school record of 2.09m in the high jump; Mateya Haintz with a hammer throw of 58.07m; Nico Aron in the 800m event with a time of 1:54. The boys 4 x 400m ran a great 3:32 in the final. Alina Olson set a new school record in the 100m earning a bronze medal with her 12.45 sprint and Kaia Haintz earned a bronze medal in the racewalk. Jade Lenton set a new junior record in the 400m of 57.94 to win a bronze medal and Khrya Le ran a huge personal best to go sub 60 in the 400m to take 5th while Elliott Payne made the javelin final to take 4th. Congratulations to all of the team for their hard work and dedication. The championships were attended by 272 schools and 2375 athletes from across the province!
