Students in French Immersion follow the same curriculum as students in the regular English program do, but their courses are in French instead of English. There is no fee for the program. French Immersion students take four courses in French during their grade 8 year and three courses in French in grade 9 and 10. Over the grade 11 and 12 years, students will take a total of three courses in French spread over two years.
Our French Immersion program offers students the opportunity to learn subjects in an immersion context and to be able to attain a high level of fluency in the language by the end of grade 12. The program intends to offer the best available courses and curriculum to compliment the studies of a student who would like to graduate one day with a bilingual provincial Dogwood certificate.

Become a Parent Volunteer
Canadian Parents for French is looking for volunteers across the province to get involved in their local school communities to help support and promote quality French language education for all students.
Your level of commitment is really up to you! You could help organize local French musical performances, movie nights, exchanges, camps, public speaking competitions and so much more!
Your involvement could be as simple as helping your local CPF Chapter with all of the little things from stuffing envelopes to blowing up balloons, or as involved as meeting with school trustees, to taking on a leadership role within your local chapter.
Each chapter operates a little differently so depending on where you live, there are different opportunities. There are also opportunities at the Provincial Branch Office in Vancouver, so if you would like to be a part of our events, or help us out in the office, let us know!
