Today we will be creating an Honour Circle during Block B. Teachers will be sharing “Sherri’s Story”, a personal story from one of our Elders. The Circle is the Indigenous way; it values every individual equally. No one is above or below; no one is in front or behind; everyone is standing side by side and looking into the circle. CIYA members will be drumming and informing the entire school with the teachings through the outdoor announcements. We are hopeful that in these five minutes, further education together, in an Honour Circle, will impact us to spend a moment throughout the day to recognize that we are a community that can make positive change as we move towards Reparation.
