Happening Today – September 10

Tutorial Hold continues all week with no Tutorial block and longer classes. Today is the first meeting of the Fiction Addiction Club – if you love to read, go to the library at lunch to check out this club. Junior Girls Volleyball – if you are on Coach Aitken’s team and she didn’t see you yesterday, see her in the library at lunch today. Grade 8 Girls Volleyball practice from 3:00-4:30 and Sr. Boys Volleyball practice from 4:30-6:00 both in the main gym, Jr. Boys Volleyball from 3:00-4:30 in the small gym, Field Hockey first practice after school on the turf – all grades welcome, and Cross Country practice @ 3pm – meet on the track, everyone welcome. The Maple Ridge Fire Department Youth Academy work experience opportunity is accepting students ages 16-18 who are interested in a possible career in the fire service – application forms can be collected from the Career Centre. VolunTeen applications are now available online – for more information, see Mrs. Domitruk on Thursday in the Career Centre. Rainbow Connection has their first meeting on Friday. Are you interested in planning school events and want to help build community at school? Students in grades 8-12 are invited to join Student Council. Their first meeting will be Tuesday, September 17.
