Happy September 1st!
Here are a few reminders, to make this school year’s start up run smoothly.
EARLY LOCKER SELECTION
We are looking forward to seeing our Grade 12 students for our Senior Sunset tonight at 7pm. All grade 12’s who have paid their student fees ($35) are invited to come to the school tonight to re-connect with each other and select your lockers. Enter the courtyard at the back of the school. Please note: we cannot accept payments during Senior Sunset.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2nd, early locker selection is available for students in grades 9 – 11 if student fees ($35) have been paid. Report to the Cafeteria for instructions per the schedule below:
Grade 11 – 11:00 – 12:00
Grade 10 – 12:30 – 1:30
Grade 9 – 2:00 – 3:00
REMEMBER YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN LOCK
GRADE 8 ORIENTATION – THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd 10AM
Grade 8 students will have the opportunity to select their lockers at the end of Grade 8 orientation on Thursday, September 3rd. Grade 8 orientation begins at 10am in the cafeteria. Student fees ($35) can be paid in advance on the parent portal or in person in the school office, with a cheque made payable to Maple Ridge Secondary School or with cash. Student fees must be paid prior to selecting a locker. Students are reminded that we do not sell locks. Students will need a lock for their school locker as well as a 2nd lock to lock their personal belongings during gym class.
GRADE 8 PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT – THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd 6PM
A reminder to parents of grade 8 students that our Grade 8 Parent Information Night is taking place at 6pm on Thursday, September 3rd. We will share important information, including the inner workings of high school and assist you with downloading and utilizing our school app. We hope you will join us for this informative and important meeting.
ACCESS TO MYCLASS – STUDENT SCHEDULES (TIMETABLES)
Student schedules will be available through MyClass accounts later in the day on September 4th. Student MyClass log-in information will only be sent to individual @sd42.ca student email accounts. Students can login using the password they had before they went on summer break.
Students needing MyClass help must email myclass@sd42.ca as school-based staff cannot reset MyClass passwords.
Parent MyClass Accounts
Parent MyClass accounts will be re-enabled after schools have finalized their placements in mid-September.
FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL
Tuesday, September 8 – Opening Day – 1:00-1:45 only
On this day Grade 8-11 students will report to their A Block class from 1:00-1:45pm for introductory activities. Grade 12 students are to report directly to the gym for an assembly.
Wednesday, September 9 (regular classes begin) 8:25 – 2:45
Day 3: B, Tutorial Hold, A, D, C Grade 8 rotation classes begin
Thursday, September 10
Day 4: F, Tutorial Hold, E, H, G Grade 9 assembly during Tutorial Hold
Friday, September 11
Day 2: E, Tutorial Hold, F, G, H Grade 11 assembly during Tutorial Hold
Monday, September 14
Day 5: C, Tutorial Hold, D, A, B Grade 8 assembly during block A,
