After a successful inaugural Black Excellence Day on January 14th in which over 22 schools participated in what was a kick off for Black History Month, Black History Month is here. We appreciate all the work that is taking place in schools to highlight the immeasurable contributions, achievements, histories and stories of Black Canadians and peoples of African Descent in helping shape societies around the world. Black History Month is a time to celebrate Love, Joy, Happiness, Excellence, Resilience and Strength of Black people and communities. The theme for Black History Month in Canada 2022 is: February and Forever: Celebrating Black History today and every day. As mentioned on many slogans and posters “Black History is Our History”.
