The Cheer team took home 1st place this weekend at Cheerfest! They were also awarded judges choice for all scholastic teams as well as and earned an invitation to the Canadian school Cheer Nationals competition in Ontario! Fantastic!! Congratulations!
AND, Ridge Wrestlers continue to dominate with a skeleton crew of 20 in Port Alberni. It started Friday morning with an invitation to a dual meet with 3 other schools, Alberni, Vancouver College, Sentinel/ Carson Graham. We ended up coming 2nd even with only 6 seniors. In the actual tournament we earned 5 GOLD medals by Maya Shylov, Levi Tosoni, Gabriel Frizzel and brother duo Tyson and Damon Deane-Freeman, two SILVER medals by Sofia krakovska and Bella Berner, three BRONZE by Linden Sinow-Horton, Teaken Christianson-barker and Ladon Tolmie, two fourth by Cooper Hutchison and London Heath-Watkins and one sixth place finish. The team also won 1st place for male junior wrestlers out of 40+ schools and Tyson won Most Outstanding Senior Male Wrestler two years after winning Most Outstanding Junior Male Wrestler. (It also helped that he performed two five point moves). Ridge Wrestling….A Powerhouse of Athletes!!!
