Badminton Team Crush the District Championships!

MRSS Junior badminton crushed it at the District championships yesterday at Thomas Haney.  In all, 11 team members qualified for the Fraser North Championships next week.  The competition was intense and Ridge proved they were definitely not intimidated.  In girls doubles, Maryam S. And Deanna M. Qualified in fourth place.  In girls singles, Maho N. took the silver, Christa B. won bronze, and Maryam S came in fourth place.  In the mixed doubles final, Mudit H and Maho N narrowly lost to take silver, while Carl T and Christa B won bronze.   But perhaps the best match of the night was in boys doubles, where Eugene H and Mudit took on a heavily favored team from Meadowridge.  The boys dropped the first set but then roared back to win two straight, clinching the gold medal.  Congratulations to the qualifiers and to the entire team for an amazing performance last night.  Good luck next week at the Frasers!
