To provide an optimal learning environment for all students, the Maple Ridge \u2013 Pitt Meadows School District No. 42 (SD42) must manage enrolment across all schools, ensuring that enrolment numbers match building capacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere space and facility is determined to be available<\/strong>,\u201d the school district has an open boundary policy that allows flexibility in choice regarding which secondary school students may attend (School Act section 74.1 Section 6). Due to increasing enrolment in recent years, however, the majority of students are assigned to their catchment school. All our high schools meet the needs of all learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

2<\/strong><\/td>\nDETERMINING CATCHMENT SCHOOL<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"The registration form will automatically populate with your child\u2019s secondary catchment school based on the residential address on file with your child\u2019s elementary school. You can also find your child\u2019s secondary catchment school using the school locator tool, which can be found here:\u00a0http:\/\/www.sd42.ca\/school-locator\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3<\/strong><\/td>\nACCEPTANCE CRITERIA<\/strong>
\nThe size of the school facility may limit the number of out-of-catchment registrations that can be accommodated. The school district will accommodate\u00a0catchment registrations first<\/strong>, then attempt to accommodate\u00a0sibling out-of-catchment registrations<\/strong>. Sibling placement cannot be guaranteed, however. Our acceptance criteria are as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. In-catchment area students who, in the previous year, attended the school;<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. In-catchment area students who, in the previous year, were placed by the district in a different school due to a lack of space<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Siblings of in-catchment area students (grades 8 to 11);<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. New in-catchment area students;<\/em><\/li>\n
  5. Siblings of out-of-catchment area students enrolled in the school (grades 8 to 11);<\/em><\/li>\n
  6. Out-of-catchment area students currently attending an SD42 school;<\/em><\/li>\n
  7. Out-of-district students.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4<\/strong><\/td>\nONLINE REGISTRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Online registration OPENS at\u00a0noon, Tuesday, February 10, 2026<\/strong>. Deadline for completing a request for the Grade 8 Transfer Period is\u00a011:59 pm,<\/strong>\u00a0Tuesday, February 24, 2026<\/strong>. If you do not register by the online registration deadline, you will need to complete a request under the Enrolment Requests \u2013 New; Transfer; Withdraw (2026\/2027) school year. See information under following tab,\u00a0Transfer requests (K-12), including late Grade 8 registration.<\/em><\/p>\n

Grade 8 students who did not register during the Feb 10 \u2013 24 registration period will be able to register on the Parent Portal starting\u00a0noon, Wednesday, March 11, 2026,<\/strong>\u00a0in the early enrolment period for the 2026\/27 school year.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

5<\/strong><\/td>\nPLACEMENT NOTIFICATION<\/strong>
\n\"\"Parents\/guardians will be notified by email by\u00a0Friday, March 6, 2026<\/strong>, about their child\u2019s assigned school.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6<\/strong><\/td>\nTRANSFERS AFTER DEADLINE<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Movement between schools after the school placements have been finalized will require a transfer request submitted on the Parent Portal under the Enrolment Requests-New; Transfer; Withdraw (2026\/2027) school year.<\/p>\n
