Reminder to Grade 11 and 12 students of the Dallas Yellowfly Indigenous Story-telling presentation\u00a0at the Act theatre on Thursday Sept 28. Please sign-up by Wednesday with Ms. Preibisch or Ms. J\u00a0Godfrey. Make sure to bring your permission forms!<\/p>\n

This Friday, Sept 29th<\/sup>,\u00a0is orange shirt day. \u00a0In support of aboriginal education we are encouraging students and staff to wear orange.<\/p>\n

Intramural Dodge Ball will start on Friday, Sept 29.<\/p>\n

Grade 11& 12 tournament will start on this day. \u00a0Schedule will be posted sometime today.<\/p>\n

“VIVE Operator training is happening in the library on Monday October 2nd during Y Block, come sign up if you would like to get trained!”<\/p>\n

PLANNER CORRECTION \u2013 PAGE 63 AND 64<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please note: the school district amended the calendar and moved the stat day from Friday, November 10th<\/sup> to Monday, November 13th. Students should make this correction in their planners:<\/p>\n

On p. 63, 64 Thursday, November 9 is now a regular<\/strong> school day (block order GHABC), Friday, November 10 is a non-instructional day and Monday, November 13 is the stat for Remembrance Day.<\/p>\n

Are you bored? Do you wish you could meet with like minded people? Well… you are in luck!<\/p>\n

Club Day is at lunch on Oct 4 in the Rotunda. Come check out\u00a0all the clubs and activities Thomas Haney has to offer!\u00a0\u200b<\/p>\n

Mr. Curwen says:\u00a0“It’s the club fair fizz that does the bizz!”<\/p>\n

THSS Clothing and Grad Hoodies will be on sale next week. \u00a0Samples will be available Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays outside the rotunda by the intramural board for the next month. \u00a0Sizes are a little different, so please try on before ordering.<\/p>\n

Order forms and pictures of what is available will be on the board next to the intramural board.<\/p>\n

All orders are due by Wednesday, October 25<\/p>\n

Photo retake forms are available in the office.\u00a0 You must have this form completed with payment to have retakes.\u00a0 Photo retake day is October 13.<\/p>\n

Attention Languages Students: The first multiculture seminar of the year will take place on Monday, October 2 during Y block. Please sign up on the board in room 2145.<\/p>\n

Crazy Bread Tuesdays is coming to Thomas Haney! PIck up a 4 piece for $2.50. Where? – outside the Thunder Cafe! When? Every Tuesday at lunch! \u00a0See you there!!!<\/p>\n

Logo Design contest!\u00a0 Anyone interested in winning a ThunderCaf gift card? \u00a0 We need a logo designed for the Cafeteria. \u00a0Please submit your design to Chef by the end of September in order to qualify for the contest.<\/p>\n

The schools FSO (Fruit Salad Organization) meets in Mr. Takasaki\u2019s room off of the English Great Hall, on Wednesdays at lunch.\u00a0 Hope to see you there!!<\/p>\n

\u200bInterested in exploring\u00a0some of the National Parks in southwest Utah – Zion, Bryce and Grand Staircase-Escalante this coming May? Come to a meeting Thursday September 28th at lunch in room 2010 to find out more.<\/p>\n

GRADE 8 and 9<\/strong> BOYS OPEN GYM BASKETBALL will be held on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 7:00 am.\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Any students wanting to play basketball at lunch in the gym need to bring in their own ball.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cross Country<\/strong> practices will be on Tuesday\u2019s right after school. Meet in room 2140.<\/p>\n

Calling all equestrians- if you love horses and you would like to join the Equestrian Academy students on a field trip out to the Mane Event in Chilliwack on Oct 20 (it’s a Professional day so you won’t miss any school) please see Mrs. Evans for a permission form. The cost will be $25 including admission and transportation.<\/p>\n

All theatre students- if you want to attend Motown the Musical in Feb. please sign up on the theatre callboard outside the video studio.<\/p>\n

CAREER CENTRE <\/strong><\/p>\n

Students interested in applying for the LORAN scholarship, please come and see Mrs. Sekhon in the career centre.\u00a0 You will need to write a 250 word essay by Oct 02, the topic is \u201cWhy should I get selected for a LORAN scholarship?\u201d Please don\u2019t put your name on your essays, you may use a false name on it. Please bring your essays to Mrs. Sekhon in the career centre.<\/p>\n

Auditions for supporting roles for the upcoming production of “It’s a Wonderful Life”<\/strong> will begin next week. Go to the theatre callboard beside the video studio for info on how to audition and to sign up for an audition time. All THSS<\/strong> students in ALL grades<\/strong> are welcome to try out.<\/p>\n
