When it comes to being successful, there’ s no substitute for hard work. \u00a0We at Thomas Haney are proud to recognize various former students for their accomplishments since graduation.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Former grad, Charly\"Charly_200px.jpg\" Caproff is a coordinator for the non-profit Fraser Riverkeeper and she is working with students to increase their knowledge of issues facing our watersheds here in BC. Lisa Szo\"\"<\/a>stek (our Student Council president from a few years ago) has organized Clayoquot Cleanup! \u00a0Here is a video of phase one of their work: \u00a0https:\/\/vimeo.com\/221808530<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Mirae Campbell is\u00a0<\/span>another former student and a lifestyle photographer with an impressive following. Mirae went along to document and help with\u00a0the Claqoquot Cleanup and she has offered to share a few photos.<\/span>\u00a0Below is a link to her website as well as some photos of all the garbage collected. Mirae’s\u00a0work is quite impressive! \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>http:\/\/miraecampbell.com\/about<\/span><\/a>\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n

Without these efforts whales\u00a0perish in\u00a0lost fishing gear, birds choke\u00a0on plastics mistaken for food\u00a0and the integrity of the\u00a0ecosystem as a whole declines.<\/p>\n

The remote coastal\u00a0regions of Clayoquot Sound have\u00a0accumulated critical levels of debris. These photos show the sheer amount of garbage collected.<\/p>\n
