Partnership Applications Now Due in the Career Centre: \u00a0<\/strong><\/span>School District 42 and various post-secondary institutions and trades training organizations have joined together to offer nine unique programs such as Hairdressing, Culinary, Metal Fab., Electrical, Plumbing, Automotive, Masonry and Carpentry to grade 11 & 12 students and adult learners. Students going into grade 12 now have the option to graduate plus get first year post-secondary certification in one year and with no tuition fees! For more info see Mr. Wiens & Ms. Sekhon in the Career Centre<\/p>\n

Jobs:<\/strong><\/span> Youth at the Booth is Elections BC’s program to hire high school students as election officials in the 2017 Provincial General Election. For more info see Ms. Sekhon in the Career Centre<\/p>\n

Work Experience:<\/strong><\/span> Any students interested in having work experience one day a week at the Aquarium need to go to the Career Centre and see\u00a0Mr. Wiens or Mrs. Sekhon<\/p>\n

Work Experience \/ Volunteer:<\/strong><\/span> Come join the Ridge Meadows home show; sign up online at ridgemeadowshomeshow.ca and see Mr. Wiens in the Career Ctr for more details.<\/p>\n

SWEAT Program at the Art Institute of Vancouver:<\/strong> <\/span>students can get 30 hours of work experience over spring break from the event. Students get to choose programs from Game Design & Programming, 3D Modelling and Animation, Visual Effects for Film & TV Acting, Photography, Digital Film & Video, Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, Fashion Design & Marketing, Professional Recording Arts, Graphic Design, Interior Design. Please see Mr. Clutchey in room 1110 to get measured for your grad gown. This has to be done BEFORE Spring Break<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grad Transitions 12:<\/strong>\u00a0 At this point, your Grad Transitions assignments should be complete. \u00a0Be sure to turn in any missing forms (exit interview, etc.) to your teacher ASAP. \u00a0If your course is not done, you should be attending your fixed block\u00a0every Friday.<\/p>\n

Be\u00a0sure that you’ve completed your PSI online form<\/strong> if you are planning to apply to a post-secondary institution. \u00a0An early offer of\u00a0admission does NOT mean that you can skip this step as this is how post-secondary institutions confirm that you have graduated at the end of the year.\u00a0 Remember: it is your responsibility to ensure that your\u00a0transcripts are sent to post-secondary institutions by their\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 deadlines. \u00a0Read letters and e-mails from PSIs\u00a0carefully to ensure you don’t miss a step!<\/p>\n

Dry Grad:<\/strong> if you are a 2017 Grad and have purchased a ticket to attend dry grad \u2013 you need to pick up the \u201cSafe ride home\u201d package (pink) in the office. If you have also purchased a guest ticket for dry grad \u2013 be sure to take a guest package also (green).
