Ms. Ford is looking for students who are comfortable speaking Spanish to speak and write with her beginning Spanish students. You can get credit in Planning, Student Aide, Peer Tutoring, Grad Trans, or any other course where you need work hours.\u00a0Drop by room 2140 whenever you have a moment and talk to Ms. Ford.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u><strong><u>International students: <\/u><\/strong>Homestay coordinator, Ms. Justine Kim, will be here every Wednesday from 1:30 to 5:00.\u00a0 Room 2133.\u00a0 <strong>Students who are here to graduate:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0If you have finished grade 9 in your home country, you are eligible for grade 12 language equivalency, and are NOT eligible for the language challenge exam in Delta.\u00a0 See Ms. Culbert if you have any questionsLANGUAGE CHALLENGE EXAMS:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 Students in grades 10,11 or 12 who are fluent in both reading and writing in French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Punjabi or Spanish can apply to take a Language Challenge exam in Delta in January for course completion. The exam is a one day, six hour exam.\u00a0 Students who are interested can pick up the Challenge package instructions from one of the counsellors. All applications must be returned to the counsellors by <strong>October 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Career Program @ BCIT:<\/u><\/strong> to help ensure that students who plan to attend our career program are focused on Broadcasting as a possible future career choice, career prep applicants are requested to attend one of the monthly information sessions prior to being scheduled for one of our available slots. Information session dates are listed online on the BCIT website under the \u201cbusiness and media\u201d heading: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcit.ca\/infosessisons\/\">http:\/\/www.bcit.ca\/infosessisons\/<\/a> phone: 604-451-6735.\u00a0The session starts at 5:30 PM and will last approximately 60 minutes. Parents are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The Research Community at BC Children&#8217;s Hospital<\/u><\/strong> is pleased to present Mini Med School 2016 &#8211; Genetic Counselling Curriculum &#8211; This series will provide insight into the world of genetic counselling. Learn how genetic counsellors are helping to lead the integration of genetics into patient care across all specialties of medicine. Mini Med School 2016 will be held Wednesday, October 19 to Wednesday, November 23 (6 sessions), 7:00 &#8211; 9:00pm at BC Children&#8217;s Hospital (938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC).\u00a0Nomination Forms are now available online for high school students in grades 10-12 interested in attending.
