Putting on the Glitz<\/em> is a grassroots initiative involving PLEA employees, representatives from Ridge Meadows Community Service Agencies, local business and other partners.\u00a0 We all work together to provide local high school graduates in need with \u2018formal attire\u2019 so that they can attend their graduation festivities with pride. Students are referred by the school counsellor.<\/p>\n Without such assistance many of these students could not afford to participate in celebrating this important milestone due to financial constraints. Anyone who knows a grad that might like some support can make a referral through any SD42 high school counsellor.<\/p>\n We are\u00a0 always accepting monetary donations, as well as donations of gently used grad outfits \u2013 gowns, suits, tuxedos, grad gowns, dress shoes, jewelry and accessories \u2013 as well as donations of services such as dry cleaning, alterations, movers, food vendors and more. Without this kind of assistance, there are many students who would not be able to afford to participate in the celebration of this milestone in their life.<\/p>\n
