This online self-reported survey is implemented by\u00a0researchers from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chartlab.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CHART Lab<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Simon Fraser University (SFU), and it helps to\u00a0identify\u00a0resources, opportunities and practices that affect positive youth development. It is administered annually and has been in place since 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The YDI collects data that is used collectively, and not individually, to better understand the holistic developmental trends,\u00a0health\u00a0and well-being of adolescents in British Columbia. In the Spring Term, we receive a general report that summarizes how our students as a group are doing with their social,\u00a0emotional\u00a0and mental health. We use this data to provide a baseline of the overall health of our students in these areas, and it informs the supports we put in place for our students going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Students will be invited to complete the<b>\u00a0<\/b>35 \u2013 40 min\u00a0online survey during one regular class period. Schools decide the date of survey implementation, and the survey will be administered by school personnel.\u00a0The YDI will be implemented at our school on March 4<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Please review the\u00a0Parent\/Guardian Informed Passive Consent Letter\u00a0attached to this email\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chartlab.ca\/about-ydi\/parent-guardian-resources-copy\/\">Parent\/Guardian YDI FAQ<\/a>.
