{"id":4816,"date":"2026-02-10T12:38:30","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T20:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=4816"},"modified":"2026-04-07T08:02:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T16:02:17","slug":"science-10-fieldtrip-planetarium","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/event\/science-10-fieldtrip-planetarium\/","title":{"rendered":"Science 10 fieldtrip @ Planetarium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the new Science 10 Curriculum, Science 10 now includes a unit on Astronomy.\u00a0 Learning outcomes include, Formation of the Universe: The Big Bang Theory, Components of the Universe\u00a0Over Time: Life Cycle of Stars, and Astronomical Data Collection Methods.\u00a0\u00a0 All Science 10 classes\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>both Day 1 and Day 2\u00a0<\/strong>will be going to the Planetarium on\u00a0<strong>Monday, May 25th, 2026.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0In order to make the field trip successful and minimize the impact on other Grade 10 classes in the school, we will be striving for full attendance of the Grade 10 class.\u00a0 We have reservations and allotted bussing for 150 students.\u00a0 If there is not enough interest shown in the field trip, it will be cancelled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Students will view 2 shows in the Planetarium and have access to the Centre Courtyard galleries.\u00a0 Students will be allowed to have lunch outdoors in Vanier Park, weather permitting.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Students not attending the field trip will be required to attend school as they will have alternate assignments in lieu of attending the trip. Students will not be permitted to stay home.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Please note that bus seating is limited. Please register early to ensure a seat on the us.
