{"id":3912,"date":"2025-08-18T11:09:06","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T19:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=3912"},"modified":"2025-09-09T11:05:05","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T19:05:05","slug":"grade-8s-field-trip-to-grouse-mountain","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/event\/grade-8s-field-trip-to-grouse-mountain\/","title":{"rendered":"Grade 8s &#038; BC First Peoples 12 field trip to Grouse Mountain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the science 8 biology and earth science unit, all the grade 8 classes from\u00a0<strong>both Day 1 and Day 2<\/strong>\u00a0will be going to Grouse Mountain on\u00a0<strong>Friday, September 26, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students will explore the BC temperate rainforest ecosystem and the geological formations of the coastal mountains, examining both the scientific aspects and the connection to First Nations peoples and culture. The activities will encompass:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1 Wildlife &amp; Outdoor Education Session<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1 First Nations Culture Presentation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">gondola ride from the base of Grouse Mountain to the peak of Vancouver (the summit)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Mountain weather conditions can change quickly and are often unpredictable regardless of the time of year.\u00a0 As a rule, please prepare for all weather condition. Appropriate clothing and good walking shoes is recommended as walking will be part of the activities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Students not attending the field trip will be required to attend school as they will have alternate assignments in lieu of attending the trip.
