{"id":2778,"date":"2025-02-18T12:56:30","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T20:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=2778"},"modified":"2025-04-10T06:43:14","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T14:43:14","slug":"boeing-future-of-flight-2025-field-trip","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/event\/boeing-future-of-flight-2025-field-trip\/","title":{"rendered":"CANCELLED Boeing &#8211; Future of Flight 2025 field trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This trip is for Physics 12 students and selected invitees from Chemistry 12, and possibly Biology 12 as space permits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boeingfutureofflight.com\/\">Boeing Future of Flight<\/a>\u00a0is one of Washington State&#8217;s premier aerospace attractions, welcoming guests to enjoy the Boeing Everett Factory Tour, Gallery, Sky Deck and Boeing Store. Boeing Future of Flight is located in Mukilteo, WA next to Paine Field and the Boeing Everett Factory, just 25 miles north of downtown Seattle.\u00a0\u00a0The field trip if for Physics 12 and additional invites from Chemistry 12 and\/or Biology 12.<\/p>\n<p>Step inside the world&#8217;s largest factory for a behind-the-scenes look at the Boeing Everett Factory and 777 assembly line. Each tour is an 80-minute guided experience with a front row view of current airplane production, the Everett site\u2019s history, and the central role it plays in the future of commercial aviation.<\/p>\n<p><em>** please note that if a student does not have insurance for the day, please pay the additional optional charge of $10.00 to cover the student.\u00a0 If students have their own insurance, they must provide a copy to Ms. Nelson.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This field trip includes transportation from SRT, leaving at 8:00 am, on a CANTRAIL Charter Coach Bus. Students will need a passport (and any additional, appropriate travel documents they personally require, for example, a travel Visa or ESTA if their passport is NOT Canadian); to cross the US Border at Pacific Highway\/Blaine. We are planning a breakfast stop at a \u201cMcDonalds\u201d over the border if time permits, after crossing the border. Arrival at the Boeing Factory, in Everett, Washington, is expected for approximately 12:00 PM. The &#8220;Future of Flight\u201d 80-minute experience, includes: 10-minute theater presentation, 30-minute factory tour of 777 and 787, 12-minute bus ride to factory, 12-minute bus ride to Future of Flight&#8221;. The \u201cFactory Tour\u201d for our school group will be at 1:30 PM. There will be galleries and education displays for students to view before\/after our tour time. Students and Families should be aware that there are NO BACKPACKS or PURSES allowed into the Boeing Factory, and NO CELL PHONES or CAMERAS. There are lockers at the Boeing Facility to place these items in during the 80-minute tour. \u201cThis is a hands-free tour. Complimentary lockers are available to use in the lobby. Please store all belongings before your tour time begins. Items NOT allowed on the Boeing Everett Factory Tour: \u2022 No purses, handbags, waist pouches or backpacks \u2022 No binoculars and electronics including cameras, video equipment or drones \u2022 No phones or tablets \u2022 No food or drinks \u2022 No weapons \u2022 No smoking or vaping\u201d Students should bring a water bottle, lunch, and snacks for the day. We are crossing the US Border so NO FRUITS or VEGETABLES should be included in your snacks\/lunch. Food is only allowed in selected areas of the Boeing Facility. Students should have dress appropriate for various weather conditions (including rain) and have closed-toe footwear suitable for walking around a factory. Students are expected to adhere to all school rules as well as the rules of the places we are visiting. (Boeing Facility and Tulalip Outlets) On the bus ride home there will be a planned stop at Tulalip Outlets for student dinner. Arrival back at SRT will be around 8:00 PM.
