{"id":4894,"date":"2026-02-24T09:09:19","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T17:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/?page_id=4894"},"modified":"2026-04-28T07:29:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T15:29:28","slug":"grade-7-orientation-day","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/srt\/grade-7-orientation-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Grade 7 orientation day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear Grade 7 Students,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome, future Titans!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are so excited to welcome students from more than 18 elementary schools to&nbsp;Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary School&nbsp;on <strong>May 20, 2026<\/strong>&nbsp;for <strong>Grade 8 Orientation Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting high school is a big step, and it is completely normal to feel excited, nervous, curious, or all three at once. Many students feel that way before their first visit. Please know that you will be well looked after from the moment you arrive. Our staff, student leaders, and administration team are here to help you feel comfortable, welcomed, and ready for this next chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you arrive at <strong>8:15 AM<\/strong>, our fantastic <strong>Link Crew leaders<\/strong>&nbsp;will greet you and give you your personalized schedule for the day. You will have the chance to explore the school, meet new people, take part in fun activities, visit classes, and experience what life at SRT is all about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will also enjoy a <strong>BBQ lunch<\/strong>&nbsp;with a vegetarian option available, along with live music from <strong>School of Rock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next year\u2019s administration team is excited to support you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"mailto:darren_rowell@sd42.ca\">Darren Rowell<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Principal, taking over from Mr. Elphick<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"mailto:allison_wall@sd42.ca\">Allison Wall<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Vice Principal (Grades 8 and 10), taking over from Ms. Clayton<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"mailto:karl_lindgren-streicher@sd42.ca\">Karl-Lindgren Streicher<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Vice Principal (Grades 9 and 11)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Grade 8 counsellor next year will be <strong><a href=\"mailto:rae-anne_swire@sd42.ca\">Ms. Swire<\/a><\/strong>, who will be there to support students throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please bring a few basic supplies such as paper, pens, and a small binder.
