Grads should drop off at the library anytime after 8:20 a.m. A reminder that there should be zero drinks packed and any medication should be labelled and brought to the office. Students can access through the night by talking with an administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Meadow Gardens Golf Club<\/strong> &#8211; Saturday, May 30 &#8211; Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and grads and their guests should not arrive prior to then. We encourage parents to come and take photos and when grads are seated for dinner, parents will leave. All grads\/guesting attending dry grad will be bused back to SRT. Those grads and guests who have not paid to attend dry grad must have a parent pick them up from Meadow Gardens or they may opt to drive themselves. Every student participating in dry grad must be on the buses provided. Please assist us in reminding our grads that they must stay off of the golf greens, not go upstairs and stay out of the restaurant on the patio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DRY GRAD PARKING<\/strong> &#8211; There will be no parking available alongside the gym doors. Vancouver Party Works will be arriving to set up in the gym and they have very large trucks that need that parking. Parents can park on the side adjacent to the turf as well as the lower parking lot. The pull through entrance and exit will be closed at 10:00 p.m. &#8211; 11:45 p.m. so the buses can easily enter to drop off the grads. Please do not park anywhere in the entrance way, even near the top. These are very large buses that need a wide berth to enter. Parents, if you are volunteering, please ensure you are in the parking lot prior to 9:45 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FORMAL CLOTHING PICK UP<\/strong> &#8211; As we only have so much room for dresses\/suits, parents are welcome to come and pick those up once the grads have returned from Meadow Gardens. There are not in\/out privileges for grads\/guests. Parents may come in or your child can hand to you at the door. There is always ample street parking as well as parking close to the hair salon off 104 Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>VOLUNTEERING<\/strong> &#8211; An event this size takes a lot of parents volunteering in many different capacities to ensure this runs smoothly and safely. We can never have enough parents for set up on Friday night as well a clean up on Sunday morning at about 4:00 a.m. If you are unable to help out during the dry grad events, please consider helping in one of these areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SRT grads are getting very excited for all the exciting events coming up this week !!&nbsp; We will kick off the festivities with a&nbsp;<strong>grad BBQ on Thursday, May 28<\/strong>&nbsp;at lunch.&nbsp; All grad are encouraged to come and enjoy some good food, music and fun with their fellow grads and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Banquet\/Dry Grad&nbsp;<\/strong>&#8211; Meadow Gardens, Saturday, May 30 &#8211; doors open at 5:30 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Please remind grads not to arrive prior to 5:30 p.m.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;Parents are welcome to come, take photos and stay until the grads are seated for the banquet.&nbsp; A reminder that grads are not permitted upstairs at Meadow Gardens, the restaurant patio or on the golf greens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Food Donations<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; All non-perishable donations should be brought to the office early this week.&nbsp; Perishable items such as baking should be brought on Friday, May 29 or Saturday, May 30 (early evening).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CHANGE OF CLOTHING<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;<strong>All grads and their guests<\/strong>&nbsp;must have their change of clothing brought in on&nbsp;<strong><em>Friday, May 29,&nbsp;<\/em>anytime during the day but&nbsp;before 3:00 p.m. (no exceptions).&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;Backpacks should be dropped off in the&nbsp;<strong>library&nbsp;<\/strong>where they will be securely stored.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Grads and their guests must have separate backpacks as they will be changing in different rooms.<\/em>&nbsp; The grads have all been told that they are not to pack any drinks of any kind.&nbsp; There will be a variety of drinks, including caffeinated beverages available at dry grad.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em><strong>Please remind your grads to pack a comfortable change of shoes along with their clothes.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MEDICATION&nbsp;<\/strong>&#8211; Students who may require medication during the evening must bring to the office in a clearly labelled plastic bag where it will be stored in the office.&nbsp; Grads can access at any point during dry grad through an administrator.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>VOLUNTEERS&nbsp;<\/strong>&#8211; Friday night will be dry grad set up at SRT starting at 3:00 p.m.&nbsp; This is a lot of work to set up and the more parents on hand to help, the faster it will go.&nbsp; An event this size takes a lot of parents to ensure that things run smoothly and safely for our grads.&nbsp; If you haven&#8217;t had a chance to volunteer but would like to, please email Kayla at srtgrad2026@gmail.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With our banquet and dry grad events just 4 weeks away, there is still a lot to get done. If you have not had a chance to volunteer yet, and would like to, please email Kayla at srtgrad2026@gmail.com. An event this size takes many parents in order to make this successful and safe for our students. We are particularly looking for help with set up on Friday evening at SRT and\/or clean up on early Sunday morning, 4:00 a.m. If you cannot stay up to help at dry grad but would be willing to come in fresh to help clean up at 4:00 a.m. until about 6:00 a.m., that would be a big help. Please email Kayla if this is something you can help with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BANQUET DINNER &#8211; Please email Christine_Watts@sd42.ca if your child has any dietary concerns for the banquet. Most things on the buffet are gluten free and many vegetarian options. If your child is vegan, we can arrange a separate meal to be served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BANQUET SEATING &#8211; table selections will be done after the May long weekend, Tuesday, May 19th @ lunch. Grads will sign up for a spot for themselves and their guest according to when they paid out their ticket. The list will be posted on Friday before the long weekend. There is 8 people to a table and grads are free to move around after dinner is done. If your family still requires over and above these additional tickets, please email Christine_Watts@sd42.ca after the May long weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GOWN &amp; TICKET PICK UP &#8211; A reminder that ceremony tickets will be available when the grad picks up their cap and gown. These gowns are rented from Winnipeg so we won&#8217;t know the exact date for pick up but we always aim to have them ready for grads to have for the weekend prior for any family functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SCHOLARSHIPS\/BURSARIES &#8211; A highlight for our ceremony is always acknowledging the achievements of our grads. If your child has received a scholarship\/bursary, please send a copy of the letter to Mrs. Watts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACCESSIBLITY SEATING &#8211; The Chandos Theatre is very accessible with a gentle slope down. These fees cover the banquet at Meadow Gardens, dry grad events at SRT and the gown rental for the graduation ceremony. The fees are divided up, half due by the end of October and the other half due immediately after spring break. We encourage payment on the parent portal but cash\/cheque (cheques payable to SRT) can also be submitted to the office (no post-dated cheques please).
