SUMMARY:Evening Snowshoe at Seymour Mountain
DESCRIPTION:Students in the Outdoors Club are welcome to join an evening snowshoe trek to Brockton Point or Lookout Point on Thursday\, November 28th. \nThis is a winter hiking route which is mostly lit\, but is out of Mount Seymour Ski Resort boundaries. \nStudents will depart SRT at the end of the school day\, meeting in the cafeteria at 2:45 pm. We will travel by SRT school van and staff/chaperone personal vehicles to Mount Seymour. The hike to Brockton Point is 4 km return distance and gains 241m in elevation. Lookout Point is about 6km return and gains 400m in elevation. \nWe will have drinks and food at the summit before descending. \nStudents should prepare by bringing layers of clothes\, decent shoes\, gloves\, snacks and a water bottle in a backpack. Poles are also a great idea. Snowshoes will be provided by the club. \nReturn time to SRT is projected to be at 8:00 pm. We may stop for fast food on the way back to school so students can bring money if they choose to buy something.
