{"id":11680,"date":"2025-08-29T09:49:47","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T16:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/pmss\/?p=11680"},"modified":"2025-08-29T09:49:47","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T16:49:47","slug":"august-29th-important-reminders-re-school-start-up-next-week-please-read","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/pmss\/august-29th-important-reminders-re-school-start-up-next-week-please-read\/","title":{"rendered":"(August 29th) Important Reminders re School Start-up Next Week (please read)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning PMSS Families.\u00a0We\u2019re sharing a couple important reminders prior to school start next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ARRIVAL TIMES for Tuesday, September 2<sup>nd<\/sup><\/u><\/strong> (the students will only be here for approx. 45-60 minutes), please note that there are NO school buses running this day.<\/p>\n<p>Students will <strong><u>report to their A-block classroom at their <em>grade-specific time<\/em> below<\/u><\/strong> to pick-up their schedules and receive other school information.\u00a0 ** <em>The A-block classes will be posted on a large whiteboard at the front of the school.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Grade 8s:<\/strong> 10:00 a.m. <strong>(Please do <u>NOT<\/u> arrive much earlier as staff will be in a meeting)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Grade 9\/10s<\/strong>: 11:00 a.m.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grade 11\/12s:<\/strong> noon<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>NEW<\/u> International Students<\/strong> \u2013 1:00 p.m. (meet your Liaison in the Multipurpose Room)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong><em>2025-2026 student schedules<\/em> <\/strong>will be available to view through <strong>STUDENT MyClass accounts <\/strong><em>when<\/em> MyClass <strong><u>opens at 3:00 p.m. TODAY (August 29<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/u> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Student MyClass <em>log-in information<\/em> will <em>only<\/em> be sent to \u2018<strong>individual@sd42.ca\u2019 student email accounts<\/strong> (which is your <strong>studentnumber<\/strong>@me.sd42.ca) \u2013 this goes to <em>your<\/em> Office 365 Outlook. \u00a0Here is a great resource for that (instructions and a video):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MyClass link:<\/strong> \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/myedbc.sd42.ca\/MyClass\/\">https:\/\/myedbc.sd42.ca\/MyClass\/<\/a>&#8211; report card access, classroom resources, calendars etc. The student will have one login (their student number and the parent has another. A reminder, the student log-in is their <strong><u>student number<\/u>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Students who have forgotten their passwords can use the <strong><em>I Forgot My Password reset<\/em><\/strong>, reminder that their primary email is <a href=\"mailto:studentnumber@me.sd42.ca\"><strong>studentnumber@me.sd42.ca<\/strong><\/a>. (see instructions below for accessing student email)<\/li>\n<li>Students needing MyClass <em>HELP<\/em> must email <strong>myclass@sd42.ca <\/strong>as PMSS school staff <u>cannot<\/u> reset MyClass passwords for you.<\/li>\n<li>Parent MyClass accounts will open <em><u>later<\/u> in September<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The link for the<strong> STUDENT EMAIL LOGIN<\/strong> is located below (example:\u00a0 studentnumber@mrpm.sd42.ca).\u00a0 Your <u>password<\/u> is BIRTHYEAR.MONTH.DAY.initials \u2013 example: Amy Smith born January 2, 2014 would be \u201c2014.01.02.as\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com\/login.srf\">Sign in to your student email account<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parents and students are strongly encouraged to use our <strong>SCHOOL WEBSITE <\/strong>as a source of information, as well as to download the <u>school app<\/u><strong>, \u2018MY SCHOOL DAY\u2019 <\/strong>which is available for free.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PMSS Website<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/pmss\/\">https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/pmss\/<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; general school info, important\/timely reminders from the office are usually posted on the main page, where to access staff and teacher contact\/email addresses, you can view the newsletters, view the calendar, view the Code of Conduct, see Grad info (once the Committee is up and running), etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>My School Day<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/myschoolday.app\/download\">\u00a0https:\/\/myschoolday.app\/download<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 school\u2019s phone app to view daily updates to calendar\/schedule\/timetable, homework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>IMPORTANT<\/u><\/strong> &#8211; make sure you are connected to the <strong>PARENT PORTAL<\/strong> &#8211; this is <strong><u>where you submit student absences<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>,<\/u><\/strong> pay student, yearbook and applicable athletic fees, where you view and pay for fieldtrips\/events, where you complete the required school consent forms (once set up by the District), where school-wide notices are sent out to families and specific groups from the office, etc.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Parent Portal<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/parents.sd42.ca\/Parents\/ParentLoginPage.aspx\">https:\/\/parents.sd42.ca\/Parents\/ParentLoginPage.aspx<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 submitting absences, receive newsletters, consent forms, fees, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Enjoy the long weekend everyone,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>PMSS Admin<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning PMSS Families.\u00a0We\u2019re sharing a couple important reminders prior to school start next week.
